ABOUT US
HEDK Architects was founded in 1968 by Jerry Beeler to focus on high-quality apartment living, then a growing and largely underserved segment in architecture. From the start, we’ve been committed to putting our clients first and delivering thoughtful, functional design backed by clear and reliable documentation. Beeler’s first commission in 1968 was a multifamily project awarded by the founder of Lincoln Property Company, within a development referred to as “The Village” in Dallas, Texas. Built on land acquired from the Caruth family, this was the first of many projects both in The Village and in conjunction with Lincoln Property Company. Beeler went on to design thousands of apartment units and establish our first of many enduring client relationships. Beeler would soon be joined by John Guest and Buz Owens, eventually adapting the name BGO Architects.
Our current leadership has been with the firm for decades. Richard Heidenrich joined in 1993, followed by Erik Earnshaw a year later. Jaron Daily joined in 1999, and Minho Kim in 2006. In 2010 these four employees were promoted to lead the firm into the future. We adopted our current name, HEDK Architects, in 2019.
Today, we remain deeply committed to building lasting partnerships through creative collaboration and responsive service. Many of our clients have worked with us for decades, and many of our staff have grown with us over many years, a testament to the trust and loyalty that define our culture. A lot has changed since 1968, but our goal is always the same: to listen closely, solve creatively, and work collaboratively. That’s what allows us to deliver beyond expectations.
