Richard is a Principal at HEDK, overseeing multiple production teams and serving as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer. Having grown up in upstate New York, London, and Dallas, Richard has always been fascinated with how buildings are conceived and constructed. After graduating from Texas A&M University, Richard started his career at BGA Architects. In his decades of experience with the firm, he has worked as an intern, job captain, and project Architect. This gives him the unique perspective of understanding each person’s role within the company, and how to draw on their strengths to ensure every project’s success. In his free time, Richard enjoys traveling, immersing himself in the destination’s local culture.

Erik began his architectural career in 1994, moving to Dallas upon his graduation from Texas Tech, and joining our firm as intern architect. It is his first, and so far, last job since college. Now serving as C.E.O and Principal, Erik has been designing award winning living environments for over 30 years, having overseen more than 1,000,000 units in his career. Erik is well recognized with multiple repeat clients, and awards from Multifamily Executive, Pillars of Industry, Best in American Living, Hardie Designs, and many more. He also represents the firm’s work through speaking engagements and serving as an expert judge. Outside the office, Erik enjoys angling, boating, traveling, and spending time with his family.

Jaron is Chief Operations Officer, Principal, and team leader. He joined HEDK over two decades ago, coming to the firm immediately out of college. Since then, he has overseen production of projects from schematics through construction. His project responsibilities include team management, project scheduling, code compliance, permit facilitation, as well as client communication and overall project coordination. He is licensed to practice Architecture in 8 states and holds an NCARB certificate.

Minho Kim

Minho is a Principal and Chief of Design Officer at HEDK, where he leads the Design Department and oversees the design direction for all HEDK projects. With education and professional experience in both South Korea and the US, Minho brings a broad perspective to this role. Since joining the firm two decades ago, he quickly became a leader of the design for the company and has contributed to numerous projects, focusing primarily on concept design, schematic design, and design development. He approaches every project as a unique challenge and takes every opportunity to deliver unique design solutions to the client and the broader community. Outside of the office, he is an active runner participating in half/full marathon races regularly and loves playing tennis competitively.

Aaron is a Senior Project Architect and Associate at HEDK, serving in the Design Department. Having grown up in both California and Maryland, Aaron brings a broad background to multifamily architecture. Since joining HEDK over a decade ago as an intern, he has contributed to dozens of projects, focusing primarily in schematic design, playing an active role in both leading design projects and supporting team members to elevate the firm’s work. He approaches every project with research and curiosity, identifying its unique challenges and opportunities to deliver responses that serve both the client and the broader community. Outside of the office he is an avid runner and regular concertgoer.

Joshua is a Project Architect and Associate at HEDK Architects, where he has contributed to a diverse portfolio of projects across the United States, specializing in student housing, senior living, affordable housing, and HUD developments. Having grown up working in his family’s HVAC business, Joshua brings a hands-on understanding of the trades to his architectural practice. This background enables him to find creative, practical solutions to complex design challenges. He consistently prioritizes the needs of the end user, striving to create high-quality, functional, and inclusive housing that improves the lives of those it serves. Outside the office, Joshua is active in his local church, coaches his children’s soccer team, and enjoys spending time outdoors.

James is a Project Manager and Associate in the Production Department at HEDK Architects, where he’s been a valued team member since 2007. A native of Topeka, Kansas, he joined the firm right after graduating from Kansas State University and has been bringing projects to life ever since. From an early age, James had a passion for residential architecture, and that passion continues to fuel his work today. Over the years, he’s played a key role in dozens of projects, focusing on design development, construction documents, permitting, and construction administration. What James finds most rewarding is seeing a project evolve from an idea on paper into a space where people live, gather, and thrive. He approaches each project with integrity and a deep sense of responsibility to clients, the community, the profession, and his colleagues. Known for his steady leadership and collaborative spirit, James is committed to delivering thoughtful, lasting design solutions. Outside of work, James is a devoted husband and proud father of three energetic boys. He’s also an avid sports fan and a passionate supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles. Go Birds!

A Dallas, Texas native, he brings extensive experience from prior roles in retail and student housing design. At HEDK, Jim manages projects from schematic design through construction administration, coordinating with clients, consultants, and municipalities to deliver cohesive, high-quality outcomes. In the office he fosters an engaging, collaborative environment by mentoring team members to excel and maintain enthusiasm for their work. His approach blends analytical precision with creative vision, ensuring designs meet client needs and enhance community living. Outside of the office, Jim enjoys hiking, cycling, and spending time with family.
