Ascend at McKinney North is a result of the ongoing collaboration between HEDK and D.R. Horton, focused on delivering efficient, well-designed housing. 

L-shaped buildings define resident courtyards, creating organized outdoor spaces and a sense of neighborhood. The amenity center was designed to reflect regional character, with an open back patio framed by heavy timber trusses. These wood elements extend into the building, maintaining visual continuity and adding warmth. Features of the amenity center include multiple lounges, fitness center, co-working space, dog wash, and even a children’s play area with a custom playhouse. 

The community features a modern farmhouse aesthetic, designed to complement the surrounding residential context of McKinney and drawing on the Texas vernacular.
