Located in Addison, Texas, the HEDK Office is the firm’s first purpose-built headquarters. The site was strategically chosen to remain close to the previous location for the convenience of both staff and clients. Designed and developed by HEDK Architects, the two-story building accommodates approximately 50 team members and embodies the new chapter of the firm’s evolving vision and leadership.
The layout prioritizes both functionality and hospitality, welcoming visitors while supporting collaboration and productivity. The design reflects HEDK’s identity as a forward-thinking practice grounded in legacy. Modern elevations and carefully selected exterior materials highlight the importance of form, texture, and color in creating lasting architecture.
Inside, the office features a variety of spaces to create the best possible environment for staff: open work areas with visual connections across floors, multiple meeting rooms, private phone booths, a spacious kitchen and dining area, a grand seating stair for all-hands meetings, and a courtyard with outdoor seating. Each element was created to foster interaction, focus, and well-being.
The interior design introduces HEDK’s updated brand colors and theme while enhancing comfort and acoustics with sound-absorbing panels, abundant natural light, and high ceilings for improved air circulation. Furniture and partitions define spaces intuitively, promoting teamwork while preserving individual focus.
As a testament to the project’s success, it was honored with the Grand Award for Best Commercial Project – Under 20,000 SF from the Southeast Building Conference’s 2021 Aurora Awards. The HEDK Office represents more than a workplace, it’s a physical expression of the firm’s next chapter.
